Kristie Ames received her Ph.D. in Physics from Lehigh University, Pennsylvania. She is a professor in the department of mechanical and materials engineering at a university in Canada. Her current researches include adaptive optics for solid state lasers and advanced diode-pumped solid state lasers. Ames has contributed to the development and characterization of adaptive optics, nonlinear optics, and ultra-short and ultra-intense laser science.
